01 / THE FIT
Convenience is the reason to shortlist it.
With this model, the appeal is the combination: a refillable countertop RO system, a removable serving pitcher and separate hot and cold dispensing. You avoid a fixed water-line connection, but still need an outlet, counter space and a routine for refilling and cleaning.
A better fit if…
- You rent, or prefer not to alter kitchen plumbing.
- You alternate between hot drinks and individual cold glasses.
- A pitcher you can carry to the table is useful.
- You are comfortable emptying and refilling a feedwater tank.
Look elsewhere if…
- You need repeated large servings of chilled water.
- You want a system with no manual refills.
- You need proven removal of a particular contaminant and cannot obtain the supporting report.
- Your counter clearance leaves no room to remove the tank.

The cold-water reserve matters more than the temperature headline.
The listing describes a 30 oz chilled-water reserve and a 43–52°F range that depends on room temperature. That reserve is just under two 16 oz servings. This is a capacity calculation, not a measured recovery test: it does not tell us how quickly the next batch will cool. [1]
One full 16 oz glass, with roughly 14 oz left in the stated reserve. Actual delivery and recovery have not been tested.
“Three seconds” applies to heating—not first-use chilling.
Leysern advertises hot water up to 198°F in about three seconds. The manual separately allows up to 45 minutes for initial chilling. It also describes about 30 minutes for the complete three-cycle first-use flush. Those are different preparation steps; neither supports a promise of cold water immediately after unboxing. [2, printed pp. 6–7]
The 17 oz preset does not fill a 32 oz bottle in a single selection. More importantly, a reviewer reports that a tall bottle can be awkward to place below the outlet. The separate pitcher offers another way to pour water, but it does not increase the chilled reserve. [1]
Measure the space—and verify the height with the seller.
The manual lists 8.3″ W × 15.8″ H × 18.3″ D, while the Amazon summary assigns 18.3″ to height. This is an unresolved dimension-label conflict. Do not assume it will fit beneath a tight cabinet based on either number alone. Also allow access to lift out the rear tank. The stated dry weight is 19.6 lb. [1] [2, printed p. 5]

Brand / retailer image · Product source ↗03 / EVIDENCE BEHIND THE FEATURES
Read the certification number, not just the badge.
The manual describes a five-stage RO filter. The listing also describes two UV functions and uses “7-stage” in its title. We would focus on the actual process and supporting documentation rather than treating the stage count as proof of better filtration. [1] [2]
This standard concerns the lead content of the product’s components. It does not by itself establish that the system removes lead, PFAS or other contaminants from your water. NSF explains that distinction in its standard information. [3]
The Leysern manual identifies LSA4RMA and LSA4RMB as WQA-certified to 372 for lead-free requirements. We have read that statement, but have not independently matched it to a current certification-directory entry. Nor have we obtained the SGS report behind the listing’s broad removal claims. Those claims should remain attributed to the seller, not presented as our test findings.
For a specific water-quality concern, request the performance report for the exact model and contaminant. The display and a high review score are not substitutes for that documentation.

Brand / retailer image · Product source ↗04 / WHAT THE REVIEWS ACTUALLY SAY
Positive early feedback—with a small, incentivized sample.
At the check date, the Amazon listing displayed 4.8/5 from 18 global ratings. We read the eight US reviews shown on the product page; all eight were labeled as Vine reviews of a free product. The displayed set included black and white Hot & Cold variants. This is not a random sample, and it is too small to establish long-term reliability. [1]
Several reviewers liked the taste and the convenience of a countertop setup. These are reported experiences, not independently verified water-quality results.
One four-star reviewer described intermittent tank detection, limited cold supply in warm conditions and difficulty fitting a tall 32 oz bottle. Another reviewer was still figuring out the cold-water function.
Check tank seating, cold operation and your usual cup fit during the return window. These reports identify useful things to inspect; they do not establish a product-wide failure rate.
Review summaries are paraphrased. We have not contacted reviewers, verified their experiences or assessed all 18 ratings.
05 / OWNERSHIP COST
Budget for a filter. Expect regular tank care.
The manual recommends a filter change every 12 months or when the replacement indicator stays on. It bases that schedule on typical drinking-water use by a family of four with municipal tap water; actual conditions can shorten the interval. It also calls for flushing after a filter change. [2, printed pp. 11–13]
Illustrative parts budget only. Excludes tax, electricity, water and shipping. Confirm LS-FRO752 compatibility before ordering; $39.90 was observed in the linked replacement listing on the main product page. It is not a guaranteed annual cost.
The stated 3:1 pure-to-drain ratio implies roughly one unit of reject water per three units of product water under the rated conditions. Startup flushing and real-world usage add to consumption. This is not a zero-waste system. [2, printed p. 5]
“Lifetime care” is not a lifetime product warranty.
The listing uses broad support language, but the manual specifies a one-year limited warranty for the original purchaser, with conditions and exclusions. Read those terms before buying. The observed Amazon offer separately showed a 30-day refund/replacement option; retailer terms can change. [2, printed p. 13] [1]

Compare the cost of convenience.
These three systems target buyers who want countertop RO plus hot and cold dispensing. This is a specification comparison, not a measured performance ranking. Manufacturer temperature figures are not directly comparable test results.
| What matters | Leysern Hot & Cold | Waterdrop A1 | Philips ADD6928DG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Observed price | $449 Amazon | $499 Brand site; code WDA1 shown | $699.99 Brand site |
| Listed temperature range | 43–52°F chilled; up to 198°F hot | 41°F cold; 203°F hot | 40°F cold; 203°F hot |
| Useful distinction | Removable 54 oz pitcher; 30 oz cold reserve | Published prices and intervals for two replacement filters | Compressor cooling; removable jug; mineralization stage |
| Main buying question | Will the cold reserve meet your routine? | Is the additional purchase and filter budget worthwhile? | Do the jug and mineralization features justify the higher price? |
| Original source | Amazon listing [1] | Brand specifications ↗ | Brand specifications ↗ |
At these observed offers, Leysern costs $50 less than the A1 and $250.99 less than the Philips. That is a price comparison only. We have not established that Leysern performs equally well, and we would not pay extra solely for a slightly lower advertised temperature.
Waterdrop lists its A1-CF at $39.99 for up to six months/550 gallons, and A1-RO at $59.99 for up to twelve months/1,100 gallons. That gives a useful maintenance-cost reference, although water conditions and replacement timing still matter. [4]
07 / OUR BUYING CALL
Shortlist for flexibility.
Verify before committing.
Leysern’s strongest case is a no-water-line kitchen setup where one person wants a hot drink and another wants a cold glass. The removable pitcher adds practical serving flexibility, and the observed purchase price undercuts the two alternatives above.
Its weaker case is high-volume chilled dispensing or a purchase driven by a specific filtration claim. The cold reserve is finite, the public review history is limited, and the performance-report evidence is incomplete. We would resolve the dimension conflict and confirm replacement-filter supply before ordering.

08 / QUICK ANSWERS
Before you make room on the counter.
Is this the same as the chilled-only Leysern?
No. This review covers ASIN B0GX8ST91Q, the black Hot & Cold variant. The listing also offers a Chilled style. Confirm the selected style before checkout.
Can it dispense cold water immediately after setup?
The manual allows up to 45 minutes for initial chilling and says sufficient purified water must be in the pitcher. The three-second claim refers to heating.
Will it fit below a cabinet?
Verify with the seller. The manual and Amazon summary disagree about height versus depth, and you need clearance to remove the feedwater tank—not merely space for the body.
Does a five-star review prove the filtration works?
No. Reviewers can report taste and convenience, but contaminant-reduction performance needs appropriate product-specific evidence. We have not conducted water testing.
Did Consumer Research Guide test this unit?
No. We reviewed the manual, the exact Amazon offer and displayed owner reviews, competitor product pages and NSF’s explanation of standard 372. Our judgments are based on those sources.
